A COVID-19-patient in Namibia who was classified as recovered two days ago, is infected again. Health and Social Services Minister Kalumbi Shangula announced today that the affected person complained of a sore throat before his planned release. The test was positive. It is case no. 1, a Romanian who lives in Spain and entered the country as a tourist in mid-March with his partner, who was also infected.

According to Shangula there is also a new infection. A 29-year-old Namibian tested positive. He was in quarantine after returning from South Africa and does not show any symptoms of COVID-19.

At the same time the Minister informed about a COVID-19 patient who recovered. Hence there are now 19 confirmed infections with SARS-CoV-2 in Namibia. Five of the cases are considered active, while 14 patients recovered.
