With the systematic testing of contact persons of known persons infected with Corona, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Namibia is increasing. Health Minister Kalumbi Shangula announced 49 new cases within just three days – on Wednesday 4, yesterday 26 and today 19. Only about a third of the people show symptoms.

With 40 newly confirmed infections in Walvis Bay and two in Swakopmund, the increase continues to focus on the coast. 25 women between the ages of 21 and 50, 16 men (23 – 47), a girl (5) and a boy (6) are affected.

Windhoek reported seven new infections: five women (19 – 56 years) and two young men (15 and 21). All were tested in quarantine after returning from abroad.

Health Minister Shangula also reported a recovered person (case 31).
